This 1 x 1.5 meter insect-proof cover uses a tightly calibrated 1.2 mm mesh aperture to exclude fruit flies, aphids, thrips, and small passerines while maintaining >90% PAR (photosynthetically active radiation) transmission. The PE material is extruded with UV absorbers and thermal stabilisers, resulting in minimal embrittlement or colour shift after 18 months of field use in UK Zone 8/9 conditions. The full-height zipper features dual-direction sliders and fabric-reinforced tape—allowing opening from either top or bottom depending on tree structure or harvest height. The drawstring system includes a knotted cord end and a low-profile plastic toggle that stays secured even in gusty spring winds—no slipping or loosening over time. The hood shape follows natural canopy contours, minimising wind flap and material fatigue. Ideal for dwarf citrus, patio apples, columnar pears, and berry canes grown in containers ≥35 cm diameter. Each unit is pre-folded and packed flat for compact storage between seasons.
