Wool-Wrapped Marimba Mallets Flexible Durable Mushroom Head

Approx. 36 cm (14.2 in) long with a 4 × 3 cm (1.2 × 1.2 in) wool-wrapped mushroom head. Shaft built from layered rubber and FRP — rubber outer (~1 cm diameter) for comfort and impact absorption, FRP inner core (~0.6 cm diameter) for torsional rigidity. Each mallet weighs approx. 102 g (3.6 oz). Materials: natural wool, fibre-reinforced polymer, and resilient rubber — chosen for longevity, tactile consistency, and tonal authenticity. The wool wrapping is densely applied and securely anchored to maintain shape and density over time, ensuring stable timbre across repeated use. The mushroom profile allows both broad strokes for chords and focused tip strikes for melodic lines — supporting progressive skill development. The seamless rubber–FRP transition prevents delamination or cracking seen in cheaper glued-composite sticks. These mallets are intended exclusively for marimba use — matching the instrument’s resonant characteristics and dynamic range. Their balanced weight distribution and moderate length suit both seated and standing playing positions, making them adaptable across educational and performance contexts in UK schools and community music programmes.
