Purpose-built stripping knife for wiry-coated breeds, featuring a rigid straight stainless steel blade and ergonomically shaped wooden handle. Blade width and taper designed to match typical terrier topcoat density and shaft length. Handle length and diameter support both pinch-grip and full-palm techniques. Functionally validated for use on Border Terriers and similar breeds — facilitates removal of old guard hairs without disturbing the dense, insulating undercoat. Supports correct coat development by mimicking natural shedding mechanics, encouraging growth of harsh, weather-resistant topcoat fibres. Recommended for weekly or bi-weekly maintenance depending on growth rate. Works best on coats that have completed their natural growth cycle — typically 12–16 weeks post-shedding — ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal discomfort to the animal.
