USB 4-Channel RS485 Interface

A space-efficient, bus-powered USB interface that expands a host computer into four fully functional RS485 serial ports. Constructed with durable black plastic and built around the CH344Q USB-UART bridge IC, it offers native support for asynchronous communication across UART0 through UART3. Key electrical specs include 5V operation, 4mA static current draw, and full functionality across an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Baud rates are adjustable from 1200 bps up to 6 Mbps — covering legacy and modern serial standards alike. The module does not require jumpers, DIP switches, or external power supplies. Each COM port maintains independent TX/RX control, enabling simultaneous bidirectional communication. This eliminates the need to multiplex or time-slice access — critical when interfacing with time-sensitive field devices like motor drives or safety controllers. Common use cases include upgrading legacy SCADA front-ends, connecting multiple RS485-enabled environmental sensors to a single Raspberry Pi or industrial PC, and consolidating serial diagnostics across test benches in electronics manufacturing and R&D labs.
