Black plastic enclosure, measuring 26–27 cm; material and finish confirmed as plastic; no weight or volumetric data supplied. Purpose-built for SFF-8482 29-pin SAS hard disk drives only — explicitly excludes SFF-8639 U.2, SATA, and NVMe devices. Requires separate 12V/3A DC power source with 5.5×2.1mm plug. Contains proprietary SAS-to-USB bridge IC enabling full command-level translation between SAS and USB mass storage protocols — allows mainstream computers to mount SAS drives without SAS controller cards or firmware modifications. Throughput capped at 5Gbps in optimal USB 3.0 environments — offering tenfold improvement over USB 2.0. Certified for Windows 7, 10, and 11; SMART telemetry may be reduced or absent in OS tools, but functional reliability remains unaffected for everyday read/write tasks.
