Triangular Wedge Mesh Seat Cushion

A 38 cm × 38 cm (14.96 inch square) seat cushion crafted from structured mesh cloth for durability and breathability. It integrates a precisely angled triangular wedge—designed to stabilise pelvic orientation—and features fully adjustable, reinforced straps for secure mounting. The entire unit is lightweight, machine-washable (mesh only), and engineered for repeat daily use in home, community, and clinical environments. This cushion directly supports users experiencing functional limitations related to hip joint asymmetry or degenerative lumbar conditions. Its open-cell structure enhances microclimate management, supporting thermoregulation and reducing shear forces at the skin-seat interface. The wedge’s geometry aligns with widely accepted biomechanical guidelines for optimal weight-bearing through the ischial rami—minimising compensatory trunk lean and muscular fatigue. The anti-slip base and wedge synergy discourages involuntary sliding during propulsion or vibration from uneven surfaces. Designed for seamless integration with NHS-approved wheelchair specifications and common European EN 12183-compliant frames, it meets practical needs for safe, dignified, and adaptable seated mobility—especially where traditional restraints are contraindicated or refused.
