STEM FM Radio Wooden Kit

Compact finished unit measures 6.8 cm × 4.5 cm × 11 cm (approx. 2.68" × 1.77" × 4.33"). Built from responsibly sourced, hand-finished wood and verified electronic subcomponents. Runs on two standard 1.5 V AAA cells (batteries not included). Covers the complete UK FM broadcast band (87–108 MHz) with automatic station scanning and a manually extendable antenna for adaptive signal capture. All mechanical connections are friction-fit and slot-based — eliminating risk of burns, fumes, or small-part hazards associated with soldering kits. Instructions are illustrated and language-graded for clarity, supporting both native and EAL learners in UK primary settings. Reinforces cross-curricular links: physics (electromagnetic waves), design (ergonomics and enclosure), and maths (measurement, scale, frequency intervals). A trusted resource for science weeks, STEM clubs, and home learning packs.
