Spring Loaded 4 Inch PU Gate Caster

A precision-engineered 4-inch swivel caster designed specifically for UK gate applications. Constructed with a high-density polyurethane (PU) tread bonded to a reinforced metal core, and housed in a heavy-duty steel yoke and mounting plate. Overall dimensions: 4" wheel diameter, ~5.5" total height, ~1.2 kg weight. Rated for continuous static load of 220 lbs (100 kg) per unit. Features a concealed compression spring system enabling vertical compliance, and a sealed swivel raceway for long-term rotational reliability. The mounting plate has two standard 6 mm clearance holes spaced 60 mm apart — compatible with common gate timber thicknesses (38–70 mm) and round/square tubular rails (30–60 mm). The PU compound is formulated for low-temperature flexibility (down to -10°C), UV resistance, and resistance to degradation from diesel, petrol, and common agricultural chemicals — critical for rural and suburban UK installations. Rolling resistance is optimised for manual operation: requires less than 3.5 kgf push force to initiate motion on clean concrete. Designed for frequent-use applications including automated gate retrofits (where manual override is needed), heritage property access gates, equestrian estate entrances, and community facility barriers — all environments where reliability, surface protection, and ease of maintenance matter most.
