Solid Steel I Shape Mending Plate Set

This set contains two identical heavy-duty I-shaped mending plates made from solid steel, each measuring approx. 26–27 cm in length (±1–3 cm manual measurement variance) and coated in black for enhanced weather resistance. The flat, straight profile ensures maximum surface contact with timber, enabling even pressure distribution and robust mechanical anchoring. Used primarily to reconnect and reinforce the junction between vertical posts and horizontal beams — especially where previous fastenings have failed or timber has degraded. Ideal for repairing truss frames, timber-framed garden rooms, lean-to roofs, and heavy-duty shelving systems. No assembly tools or fixings are included. Requires standard wood screws (e.g., 6 × 60 mm countersunk) driven through aligned mounting holes into both connected members. Suitable for use with planed or rough-sawn softwood and hardwood up to 100 mm depth per member.
