Silver Ruffler Presser Foot Low Shank Type

Measured size: 8.2 × 6.7 × 3.8 cm (±1–2 cm tolerance due to manual measurement). Metallic silver finish applied over solid base metal — resistant to tarnish under normal indoor storage and usage. Intended solely for low shank domestic sewing machines; incompatible with high shank, slant shank, or industrial systems. Verified working fit on machines including Brother XM2701, Singer Start 1304, and Janome 1008 — all commonly stocked in UK stores and online. Operates via passive mechanical action: the front roller engages the top fabric layer while the foot base remains fixed relative to the feed dogs — generating gather ratio determined by stitch length and fabric thickness. Performs best with cotton, linen, and poly-cotton blends; not recommended for highly stretchy knits or ultra-thin silks without stabiliser backing. Frequently used in UK-based sewing education (adult learning centres, school DT departments) and small-batch craft businesses for producing repeatable ruffled components — from napkin hems to boutique baby rompers — all with accessible, non-specialist equipment.
