SFF-8482 SAS USB Adapter

Compact black plastic adapter, approx. 26–27 cm in length; no weight or internal capacity details given. Connects only SFF-8482 29-pin SAS HDDs — not compatible with U.2, SATA, or PCIe-based storage. Powered externally via 12V/3A DC 5.5×2.1mm input (adapter sold without power supply). Uses integrated silicon to bridge SAS physical layer and USB 3.0 protocol stack, letting standard PCs access SAS drives as removable USB storage. Maximum theoretical throughput: 5Gbps — consistent with USB 3.0 Gen 1 spec and ~10× faster than USB 2.0. Verified operational on Windows 7, 10, and 11 with native USB mass storage class support. SMART reporting may be limited post-conversion due to protocol abstraction, but does not impair file I/O, formatting, or disk health during normal operation.
