High-reliability USB 2.0 to RS485 serial adapter designed for factory automation, building management, and remote telemetry. Core IC: CP2102 (Silicon Labs) — selected for proven industrial UART stability — complemented by CH340 for enhanced driver fallback. Dimensions: ~50 × 25 × 15 mm; weight: ~25g; enclosure: UL94-V0 rated plastic. Power: USB bus-powered 5V; includes protected 5V auxiliary output (fuse-limited). Pinout: A+, B-, GND, GND, 5V0. Ambient operating range: -40°C to +80°C. Supports RS485 half-duplex communication up to 1200 meters (at 9600bps) and baud rates up to 921600bps. Direction control is fully automatic — no RTS/DTR dependency or physical jumpers. Protocol-transparent hardware layer ensures compatibility with any serial application. Protection includes 15kV ESD, TVS transient suppression, surge rating, and short-circuit survival on both data and power rails. TXD/RXD LEDs aid diagnostics. Driver-free operation on most Windows versions (98 to 10), recent Linux distributions, and macOS X (10.6+).
