RM Series Copper Thermocouple

A genuine Dometic replacement thermo element for RM-series absorption refrigerators found in European campervans, motorhomes and touring caravans. The unit features a 250 mm copper thermocouple probe with insulated lead and standard M5 threaded tip for secure positioning in the burner assembly. Total weight is approx. 35 g. Made from oxygen-free copper and ceramic-insulated wiring, it operates within the standard 0–700°C sensing range required for propane/butane gas safety systems. Its function is to convert heat from the pilot flame into a millivolt signal (approx. 15–30 mV when fully heated), which holds open the gas solenoid valve — ensuring safe, uninterrupted cooling on gas power. Particularly suited to older or frequently used units where thermocouple drift or oxidation compromises reliability.
