Nylon Hammock Sensory Swing

This sensory swing uses tightly woven, abrasion-resistant nylon fabric (120 cm × 60 cm / 47 in × 24 in), offering superior durability compared to standard cotton or polyester alternatives. Weight-tested to 120 kg (265 lbs), it accommodates growing children and adults. Comes with 3 metres of low-stretch static rope and two corrosion-resistant steel carabiners. Installation guide written for UK housing contexts — includes advice on identifying load-bearing ceiling joists, selecting appropriate anchors and verifying structural suitability before use. The gentle oscillation pattern promotes vestibular maturation and improves interoceptive awareness — helping users recognise internal states like hunger, fatigue or stress earlier. Combined with light compression from the hammock shape, it supports nervous system settling and reduces reliance on less adaptive coping strategies such as stimming or withdrawal. Commonly prescribed within UK Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and used alongside sensory circuits in mainstream and specialist schools — forms part of evidence-informed approaches to inclusion, not just behavioural management.
