MAX4466 Electret Mic Amplifier Board

A ready-to-use electret microphone amplifier based on the Maxim MAX4466 op-amp, featuring a pre-soldered 20–20 kHz electret capsule. Physical size: 22 mm × 15 mm × 8 mm; lightweight FR-4 construction (~2 g). Gain is manually adjustable from 25× to 125× using the integrated trimmer potentiometer located on the board’s underside. Output is rail-to-rail, DC-coupled, centred at VCC/2 — yielding ~200 mVpp at conversational volume (6″ distance), up to ~1 Vpp for microcontroller ADC use, and peaking near 5 Vpp. Requires 2.4–5 VDC supply; 3.3 V recommended for minimal noise. Not suitable for driving speakers or headphones — designed exclusively for signal conditioning prior to digitisation or further amplification. Optional 100 µF AC-coupling capacitor advised only when interfacing with non-DC-coupled inputs.
