Leather Craft Marking Gauge With Lockable Wing Divider

A dedicated two-in-one layout tool combining an adjustable marking gauge and a lockable wing divider compass, both built for precision leatherwork. The marking gauge uses a brass-knurled screw for smooth, stable interval setting; the divider features a machined steel pivot with positive-lock thumb nut. Constructed entirely from 304 stainless steel: gauge body length 175 mm, divider max opening 200 mm, combined weight 235 g. Material specifications include Rockwell hardness rating HRC 52–54 for wear resistance and non-magnetic properties. The gauge’s scribe tip is ground to a 15° included angle for controlled penetration into leather fibres; divider legs are tapered and hardened for clean entry and minimal surface drag. Used for marking seam allowances, centre lines, decorative concentric circles, and proportional divisions directly onto leather hides, pre-cut panels, or finished goods — also suitable for fine joinery layout and instrument-making jigs where thermal stability and zero creep are required.
