This 2-piece infrared safety beam kit comprises two black plastic sensors and two adjustable mounting brackets. Dimensions per sensor: approx. 5.5 cm × 3.5 cm × 2.5 cm; total package weight: ~240 g. The sensors emit and receive an invisible infrared beam across the garage doorway — any break in the beam during door descent activates automatic reversal, complying with basic safety standards for residential garage doors. Designed for compatibility with Sears Master Mechanic openers (model year 1997 and newer). Common replacement scenarios include intermittent reversal with no obstruction present, inconsistent LED status (green on / yellow off), or reduced responsiveness in cold or sun-exposed installations.
