I2S 3.2W Class D Amplifier Board

Compact amplifier board based on the MAX98357A IC, measuring approximately 1.9 × 1.8 cm (0.75 × 0.71 in) and weighing minimal for embedded use. Delivers up to 3.2W output into 4Ω loads and 1.8W into 8Ω loads when powered by a 5V DC supply. Operates across a wide input voltage range of 2.7–5.5V DC, making it suitable for both USB-powered and battery-operated projects. Features I2S digital audio input protocol compatible with 3.3V or 5V logic levels, supporting sample rates from 8 kHz to 96 kHz. Includes five-step gain selection (3 dB, 6 dB, 9 dB, 12 dB, 15 dB) via hardware configuration using pull-up/pull-down resistors — default gain is 9 dB. Built-in thermal and overcurrent protection ensures reliable operation. Note: Soldering required if external connectors are needed.
