Constructed from high-purity graphite — dense, homogeneous, and free of binders or fillers — delivering natural black finish, low ash content, and minimal outgassing at high temperatures. Typical weight: ~42 g. Internal cavity volume supports casting of ~65–75 g silver or ~75–85 g gold ingots under standard pouring conditions. Designed for thermal stability: retains shape and dimensional accuracy after repeated exposure to 1000–1200°C, with no microfracturing observed under thermal cycling between furnace and ambient air. Chemically resistant to concentrated HCl, HNO₃, H₂SO₄, and NaOH solutions — verified through extended immersion tests. Excellent thermal conductivity enables faster heating/cooling than ceramic alternatives, shortening experiment turnaround time. Used across university metallurgy labs, assay offices, and small workshops for casting calibration standards, preparing test coupons, fabricating custom electrodes, and demonstrating phase-change behaviour in undergraduate materials courses.
