The frame uses solid steel wire brackets paired with tightly woven nylon mesh — offering rigidity for shape retention underwater and flexibility for folding. Eight tapered entrance funnels are strategically spaced to maximise ingress while minimising escape, proven effective for catching brown shrimp (Crangon crangon), shore crab (Carcinus maenas), and invasive signal crayfish.
