Product details

Fluted 20-Grit Masonry Rubbing Stone

Size: Approx. 12 cm × 8 cm × 4 cm (tolerance ±1–3 cm). Weight: Light and balanced for intuitive handling. Grit: Fixed 20-grit rating achieved via embedded fluted silicone carbide segments — not coated or glued-on particles — ensuring structural integrity and linear wear. Handle: Integral rigid plastic handle formed in one piece with the base, angled slightly to promote natural wrist alignment during forward/backward rubbing strokes. Material composition: Fluted silicone carbide stone mounted on a robust plastic substrate — selected for durability, chemical inertness, and compatibility with alkaline cementitious materials. The fluting enables directional control — users can orient the brick to emphasise either aggressive stock removal (edge-leading) or smoothing refinement (face-leading), adapting technique to substrate condition without switching tools. Debris evacuation channels remain clear even after prolonged use on wet-cured concrete or lime-based plasters. Frequently applied in UK renovation projects for correcting feather-edged plasterboard joints, evening out self-levelling compound overspill, softening sharp arrises on precast cladding panels, preparing fair-faced concrete for protective impregnation, and restoring historic brick facades where mechanical abrasion must be strictly limited.
