Heavy-duty 8-speed cassette built from solid steel, centred on a 40-tooth sprocket for expanded low-gear capability. Approximate size: 4.5cm × 6.2cm; weight: ~280g. Conforms to HG freehub interface standards and supports all common 8-speed chain widths (7.1–7.3mm). Sprocket stack is cold-forged and CNC-finished to ensure dimensional repeatability and minimal runout. Gear ratios are selected to minimise overlap between adjacent gears — improving pedalling efficiency on variable terrain — while preserving robust tooth thickness on the 40T sprocket to prevent bending under high-torque hill starts. Surface treatment enhances resistance to moisture ingress at spline contact points. Recommended for riders maintaining vintage or value-oriented road platforms, cycle-to-work schemes, or community bike projects where reliability, repairability, and parts availability are prioritised over marginal weight savings.
