DIY Acoustic Levitation Science Kit

This science education kit demonstrates ultrasonic acoustic levitation using a 40 kHz standing wave field generated between two transducers. It reliably levitates 2–3 mm diameter foam balls in air with stable, observable suspension. Built with a black plastic enclosure, the internal circuit integrates a microcontroller, driver IC, and dual ultrasonic transducers. Power is supplied via a dedicated EU plug AC adapter delivering regulated DC 5 V (0.5–1 A); the adapter supports full-range AC input (100–240 V), ensuring seamless use across EU countries—including Germany, France, Italy, Spain—and Indonesia. Minor mainboard heating occurs during operation, consistent with efficient power delivery in compact electronics. Designed for experiential learning, it enables intuitive interaction: use provided tweezers to place a foam sphere precisely in the acoustic node between transducers and watch immediate levitation—no software, sensors, or external tools required.
