Adjustable ND2 to ND400 Filter

This adjustable neutral density filter is constructed with shock-resistant tempered optical glass and a precision-machined aluminium alloy frame, ensuring durability and optical clarity. It measures 46mm in diameter and is lightweight yet robust for everyday field use. The filter operates on the dual-CPL superposition principle, allowing smooth, continuous adjustment from ND2 (1 stop) up to ND400 (approx. 8.6 stops) — ideal for controlling exposure without changing aperture or shutter speed. Designed for creative long-exposure photography, it enables slow shutter speeds of 4 seconds or more to eliminate uneven dimming (commonly referred to as 'X-shadow' or moiré fringe), especially at higher densities. Use it outdoors under bright sky conditions: rotate gradually from minimum to maximum while observing the viewfinder for the onset of uneven shading, then note that scale position for repeatable results.
