AD834 Wideband Analog RF Module

This RF module integrates the AD834 four-quadrant analog multiplier — a benchmark IC in high-speed analog signal processing — into a ready-to-deploy hardware platform. Dimensions: ~4.8 × 5 cm (1.89 × 1.97 in); construction: rigid metal housing. It runs on 5V DC at 30mA, with a 50-ohm input port and a single-ended output derived from an internal differential balun. This architecture delivers excellent output balance and harmonic suppression. The module functions continuously from 0.1 MHz to 500 MHz, supporting applications including frequency conversion, amplitude control, real-time gain scaling, and phase-sensitive detection. Its metal enclosure ensures mechanical rigidity and electromagnetic compatibility, while the fixed 5V supply eliminates the complexity of dual-rail biasing. The output can be directly connected to 50-ohm test equipment or further buffered as needed. Because the AD834 is a true analog multiplier (not a switched or digital approximation), it preserves signal phase and amplitude relationships with nanosecond-level latency — vital for closed-loop control, coherent demodulation, and analog computing workflows.
