The mixer mat is easy to clean and rarely needs cleaning, it is completely covered by the mixer's base. The upgraded non-slip mat has edge stitching so it won't deform and can be used for a long time. 3. The side of the mixer mat that contacts the mixer is made of non-rubber, which grips the machine firmly and prevents it from moving during mixing. The other side uses a non-slip fabric with less friction to move and slide easily. 4. The stand mixer mat is quite thin and discreet - The mat does not add height like metal shelves would, which is great if there are cabinets above the appliances. The size fits the base of an aid stand mixer exactly. 5. It provides just enough slide on the countertop to pull out the mixer and push it back when you're done with it.
