6DOF Motion Sensor Module MPU-6050

This 6-degree-of-freedom motion sensor module centres on the MPU-6050 MEMS IC, integrating a 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer. Physical design adheres to 2.54 mm pin pitch for universal compatibility with UK/EU prototyping ecosystems. PCB employs immersion gold plating and machine-welded component placement to guarantee consistent electrical performance and mechanical resilience. Power requirement: 3–5 V DC. Communication: standard I²C protocol only. On-chip 16-bit ADC provides high-fidelity digital output for both sensor types. Gyroscope sensitivity options: ±250, ±500, ±1000, ±2000 °/s. Accelerometer sensitivity options: ±2, ±4, ±8, ±16 g. All operational parameters — including range selection, output data rate, digital low-pass filter configuration, and interrupt behaviour — are controlled via I²C-accessible registers. This enables deep system-level tuning without hardware modification. The co-packaged sensor architecture ensures matched temperature response and temporal synchronisation — critical for fusion algorithms used in orientation estimation. Used successfully in motion-based gaming interfaces, augmented reality orientation tracking, electronic image stabilization (EIS), optical image stabilization (OIS), indoor pedestrian navigation, gesture-driven user interfaces requiring no physical contact, and posture-triggered system shortcuts — reflecting broad adoption across UK universities, EU hardware accelerators, and commercial OEMs.
