This 5L fermentation jar measures 23.5 × 16.5 × 19.5 cm and is manufactured from food-grade polypropylene (body), high-impact polystyrene (lid), stainless steel (press plate), and food-safe silicone (sealing ring). It serves dual roles: active fermentation vessel and cold-storage container for finished ferments. The integrated press ensures full submersion of vegetables in brine — essential for suppressing aerobic microbes and encouraging Lactobacillus growth. Its sealing interface combines lid rigidity and gasket resilience to maintain anaerobic conditions over multi-week cycles. The transparent PP body allows ongoing visual evaluation of fermentation markers including CO₂ bubble rate, sediment formation and colour saturation. Designed for integration into typical UK domestic kitchens, it stores neatly in fridges or pantries and cleans efficiently — with all components except the stainless steel press being top-rack dishwasher safe. No pigments, coatings or adhesives are used anywhere in the assembly.
