5L Airtight Kimchi Fermentation Jar

This 5-litre fermentation and storage container measures 23.5 × 16.5 × 19.5 cm and weighs approximately 1.2 kg. It is constructed from food-grade PP, HIPS, stainless steel, and food-safe silicone — combining durability, safety, and structural integrity. The jar features an integrated press mechanism that applies consistent downward pressure to submerge vegetables fully in brine, supporting optimal anaerobic fermentation. Its airtight seal minimises oxygen exposure, helping to preserve freshness and promote stable lactic acid fermentation for kimchi, sauerkraut, gherkins and other lacto-fermented foods. The transparent body allows visual monitoring of fermentation progress without opening the lid. Designed to fit standard UK and EU refrigerators, it offers practical countertop or chilled storage. The smooth, non-porous interior surface resists staining and odour retention, and the entire unit (excluding the steel press) is dishwasher safe for convenient cleaning.
