Since the gaiter is exposed to all weather conditions, it should be replaced proactively to maintain effective protection of the overrun brake system. Replacement instructions: When replacing, identify the type and/or brand of the overrun brake, as indicated on the rating plate, to ensure correct gaiter sizing. Alternatively, measure the diameter on the coupling side and the brake side, and note any obstructions such as ball coupling mounting bolts. Use a 19mm wrench to remove the bolts or nuts securing the coupling, then remove the old gaiter. Install the new gaiter and secure it with a cable tie if necessary.
