40kHz Waterproof Ultrasonic Sensor Module

Based on proven 40kHz ultrasonic technology, this JSN-SR04T module integrates a sealed, waterproof transducer directly onto a compact PCB platform. Designed specifically for environments where condensation, rain, dust or chemical exposure would compromise standard sensors, it requires no additional protective casing. Physical dimensions allow mounting in tight spots—including behind control panel fascias or inside weatherproof junction boxes. Power input is fixed at 5V DC, with ultra-low 5mA standby consumption and transient 30mA pulses during measurement. It delivers distance data across 25cm–4.5m (9.84in–14.76ft) with ~0.5cm resolution, aided by a directional acoustic beam under 50°. Operating temperature range spans -10°C to 70°C—covering UK seasonal extremes and typical EU industrial ambient conditions. Connection uses four clearly labelled terminals: +5V, Trig, Echo, and GND—ensuring plug-and-play readiness with popular education and prototyping platforms.
