38mm Expandable Pool Skimmer Plug

Physical specs: 3.8 cm diameter × 4 cm length; total weight approx. 170 g for pair. Construction: Dual-material — soft yet resilient rubber compound (Shore A 60–65) for conforming seal + cold-forged stainless steel internal frame and wing nut. Designed for nominal 38 mm ID pipes (±0.5 mm tolerance). Each plug operates via linear actuation: turning the wing nut draws the stainless steel expander forward, forcing the rubber sleeve to expand radially against the pipe wall. This design accommodates minor dimensional variances and thermal contraction — maintaining seal integrity from -10°C to +40°C. Use cases span seasonal and operational needs: primary application is winter shutdown of above-ground and in-ground pools; secondary uses include isolating sections during equipment servicing, verifying plumbing integrity before reassembly, and emergency leak containment. Its neutral form factor and material safety also support safe, temporary sealing of domestic 1.5-inch waste outlets — especially useful during kitchen sink trap maintenance or DIY plumbing checks.
