3-Stage Audio Power Filter Board

This Level 3 audio amplifier power filter board features a composite electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression design comprising one stage of differential mode filtering and two stages of common mode filtering. It accepts single-phase AC input voltage from 110–250 V and delivers the same voltage range at output, supporting a rated load current of up to 10 A. Input connects via a 3-wire 7.62 mm pitch terminal socket (including live, neutral, and earth), while output uses a 2-wire 7.62 mm pitch socket. The board is constructed using standard PCB with mounted components, housed in a compact black assembly. Physical appearance and silkscreen text may vary slightly between production batches — this does not affect functionality or performance. The first stage employs two differential inductors for mid-to-high frequency differential mode noise suppression. The common mode filtering is implemented across two stages: the first uses X2 safety capacitors combined with a common mode inductor; the second adds further common mode attenuation. This three-stage architecture significantly reduces rapid transient group pulse interference — especially those recurring at several kilohertz — commonly encountered in sensitive audio environments. When installed upstream of a power amplifier or decoder, this filter removes DC offset from the AC supply, suppresses transformer hum and high-frequency switching noise, resulting in cleaner power delivery. Users report improved audio resolution, deeper background silence, and enhanced clarity — particularly noticeable during low-level detail retrieval and dynamic passages.
