1-metre passive server cable with SFF-8643 (Mini-SAS HD) male connector on one end and four SFF-8482 (29-pin) female connectors on the other — designed for internal storage interconnection in enterprise servers and JBOD enclosures. Constructed from copper conductors; black outer jacket. Weight: 120 g. Electrical characteristics: 30 V AC working voltage, 300 V DC dielectric strength (0.1 s), insulation resistance ≥500 MΩ, contact resistance ≤5 Ω, contact impedance ≤80 mΩ. Max insertion force: 5.55 N. Operating temperature: -20°C to +85°C. Enables simultaneous connection of up to four 2.5" or 3.5" SFF-8482 drives — whether SAS or SATA — to a single SFF-8643 host controller port. Each channel operates independently at up to 6 Gbps, supporting mixed drive types within the same cable run. Maintains strict impedance control and crosstalk suppression to meet SAS-2 and SATA III compliance requirements. Typical use cases include connecting drives in OEM server chassis, DIY storage servers using LSI/Broadcom HBAs, and compact NAS platforms where internal cable clutter must be minimised while retaining full per-drive bandwidth. Not suitable for external connection, Thunderbolt, NVMe, or PCIe-based storage expansion.
