Good quality quick connectors (4pcs taps) are supplied. No need to cut any wires and no need to solder. All connections can be made under the fuel tank, in the ECU box or behind the instrument cluster. The table below shows an overview of the connections: GFYSHIP wire Connect to Red + 12V switched power wire Black Ground wire or chassis ground White Speed signal, touch anywhere between the speed sensor and the instrument cluster. On some ABS models, tap the speed signal anywhere between the ABS computer and the ECU box. Click on the green tacho signal, tap anywhere between the ECU box and the instrument cluster. Alternatively, tap the signal wire with the 2-wire sensor crankshaft (receiver coil), anywhere between the sensor and the ECU box. To complete installation, it is recommended to consult your dealer and/or refer to the service manual available for your bicycle. Due to the large number of bicycle and vehicle models compatible with this kit, model-specific wire colors and installation instructions are not described in this document.1. The ignition key should be in the off position. Remove the seat, lift and support the fuel tank2. Locate the speed sensor connector.A. Most motorcycles have a speed sensor mounted on the gearbox. Others have the sensor mounted on the front or rear wheel.B. Trace the cable until you find the speed sensor connector. This is a 3-pole connector (except BMW which use 2-pole).C. If in doubt, check your bicycle's service manual or ask your dealer for the location of the speed sensor connector. Confirmation: Separate the speed sensor connector. Turn the wheels when the ignition is on. The speedometer should read 0. If so, turn the ignition off, reconnect the connector and go to the next step. Otherwise, if the speedometer registers a speed other than 0, you have not disconnected the correct connector and need to look again. ABS Models: Some ABS-equipped bikes do not have a speed sensor (e.g. Yamaha FJR1300 2006+, VMAX 2009+, Ducati ST4 2005+) . The speed signal is generated by the ABS computer. On these bikes, tap the speed signal wire between the ABSI computer and the ECU. Refer to the bicycle service manual for wiring.3. Connect the black wire of the GFYSHIP to the sensor ground wire, using the supplied red wire to the tap connector.4. Connect the red wire of GFYSHIP to a switched +12V power cord, such as a wired switch rear brake light, or to the power cord in the fusebox. You can use the speed sensor power wire if its voltage is higher than 9V. Again, use the supplied red wire for the tap connector.6. Connect the GFYSHIP green wire to the crankshaft sensor signal wire (pickup coil). The crankshaft sensor is located inside the crankcase, usually near the alternator. It has two wires. Alternatively, tap the tacho signal wire near the ECU box. Re-use the supplied red wire tap connector. Configuration: You need to configure the module after installation. When the ignition is turned on, the display will count backwards (6 to 1), indicating that the memory is clear. - Lift the rear wheel off the ground with a stand and start the engine in neutral. (If you don't have a stand, you can set the device while driving. Find a long, straight road with light traffic.) - The display will flash "1". Select first gear, release the clutch and keep the rpm above idle speed. Display flashes faster as the device learns the gear. - When display shows "2", select two-position. Repeat this process until all gears have been thought through (5 or 6). The device is programmed and should indicate the gears correctly. Now when the ignition is turned on, it will display forward (1 to 6) that it is fully functional. Package includes: 1 xGear indicator
